H+H opens its first factory in Russia
On 6 June 2009 H+H officially opened the first and most technologically advanced factory in Russia for production of aircrete - with an annual production capacity of 400.000 m3. The factory is located on a 100,000 m2 plot of land in Kikirino near Volosovo in Leningrad Oblast, 60 km southwest of St Petersburg
The official opening ceremony was attended by Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office, Sergey Naryshkin, the Governor of Leningrad Oblast, Valery Serdyukov as well as customers and employees. The ribbon cutting ceremony also included Group CEO, Hans Gormsen, as well as George Dalmose Rasmussen, General Manager of OOO H+H Rus.
From greenfield to federal governmental approval for taking the factory into use as well as for preliminary product certification for sales took less than 2 years. Construction of the 35,000 m2 production hall was carried out by general contactor Lemcon Ltd, Russia, and the entire factory was build in record time – 18 months – from start to final approval. Local H+H management and employees have done a great job together with the H+H International technology team.
This achievement would not have been possible without the personal support of Governor Serdyukov and his Vice Governor Dvas and their daily support and contact to the project team.
Federal government approvals for the stringent environmental demands and requirements for utilities; gas, electricity as well as water and sanitation were done and granted in parallel and in record time. And at the beginning of April this year, H+H RUS was in the market with approved products.
H+H has only praise for the governmental support and at all levels. This clearly demonstrates the positive investment climate in Russia and that this specific public and private sector cooperation has given H+H a foothold in the important and growing market in Russia for aircrete products.
