Download EPDs for H+H Aircrete Products

Environmental Product Declarations

Our EPDs provide transparent whole-life carbon data to support specification, Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCA), BREEAM assessments and sustainable building design.

Environmental data

Understand our products’ impact

Access independently verified EPDs for H+H aircrete products, providing transparent data on environmental performance to support informed specification and whole-life carbon assessment.

What is an EPD?

EPDs are independently verified documents that report the environmental impact of a construction product throughout its lifecycle. H+H EPDs provide transparent environmental data for our aircrete product range, helping architects, specifiers and sustainability consultants assess embodied carbon, support Whole Life Carbon Assessments and make informed specification decisions.

Why H+H EPDs are different

Whole-Life Reporting

Provides cradle-to-grave lifecycle data for more accurate Whole Life Carbon Assessments.

Independently Verified

Developed to EN 15804+A2, ISO 14025 and ISO 21930.

1m³ Declared Unit

Consistent data for reliable product comparisons.

Sustainable Design

Supports WLCA, BREEAM, Future Homes Standard and net zero carbon projects.

How to Compare EPDs

Declared Unit

Products may be reported using different units such as m³, m² or kg. H+H EPDs use 1m³ of aircrete as the declared unit.

Global Warming Potential (GWP)

Measured in kgCO₂e, GWP indicates the greenhouse gas emissions associated with each lifecycle stage.

Lifecycle Scope

Comparisons should only be made between EPDs reporting equivalent lifecycle stages to ensure fair assessment.

Understanding EPDs for building materials

This video covers what is included in a product’s whole lifecycle, how EPDs for different products may vary, and what to look out for when comparing EPDs.

Our EPDs cover the whole product lifecycle

How can you compare Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for different products when they don't always tell the whole story? At H+H, we're proud to say we consider the whole lifecycle of our products in our EPDs. Watch our video to learn what we include in the EPDs for our products.

Comparing carbon for timber vs aircrete

When comparing the carbon cost of aircrete and timber, timber may at first glance seem like the most sustainable choice. However, when you look at the whole picture, the resulting whole lifecycle figures may surprise you. Watch our video to learn more.

FAQs

What's Included in an H+H EPD?

All compliant Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) report the product stage (A1–A3), end-of-life stage (C1–C4), and Module D, which covers the benefits of reuse, recovery and recycling beyond a building's lifecycle. H+H EPDs provide a more comprehensive assessment by also including transport and installation (A4–A5) and the full in-use stage (B1–B7), including maintenance, repair and replacement. This broader scope provides a more complete and accurate understanding of a product's environmental performance throughout its entire lifecycle.

Why Whole-Life Carbon Matters

Accurate sustainability reporting requires consideration of whole-life carbon rather than focusing solely on upfront emissions. While cradle-to-gate (A1–A3) and upfront carbon (A1–A5) values provide useful information, they do not represent a product's full environmental impact. Following the RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment (WLCA) Standard ensures that all lifecycle stages are considered, including the treatment of biogenic carbon and its release at end of life, providing a more complete picture of long-term building performance.

Building Better with H+H Aircrete

H+H aircrete combines independently verified environmental data with proven building performance to support more sustainable construction. Excellent thermal performance helps reduce operational energy demand, while a service life exceeding 100 years and the ability to recycle material at end of life contribute to lower whole-life environmental impacts. Supported by transparent, third-party verified EPDs, H+H aircrete is regularly specified on projects designed to meet Future Homes Standard requirements, achieve Passivhaus certification, secure BREEAM credits and reduce whole-life carbon.

Which H+H products have an EPD?

Environmental Product Declarations are available for our Standard Grade, Solar Grade, High & Super Strength Grade aircrete blocks, and Vertical Wall Panels. Each EPD can be downloaded directly from this page.

How can H+H EPDs support my project?

H+H EPDs provide independently verified environmental data that can be used to support Whole Life Carbon Assessments (WLCA), BREEAM assessments, net zero carbon strategies and sustainable specification decisions.

What is the declared unit used in H+H EPDs?

All H+H EPDs are based on a declared unit of 1m³ of aircrete, providing a consistent basis for comparing environmental performance and calculating embodied carbon.

Are H+H EPDs independently verified?

Yes. All H+H EPDs are independently verified and developed in accordance with EN 15804+A2, ISO 14025 and ISO 21930.

What lifecycle stages are included?

H+H EPDs report whole-life environmental impacts, including product, construction, use and end-of-life stages, providing a more complete assessment than product-stage reporting alone.

When should I use an EPD?

EPDs should be used during specification and design to compare construction products, assess embodied carbon and support sustainability reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
